Introduction

Polyvinylpyrrolidone is referred to as PVP, which is a polymer of vinylpyrrolidone. Because of its different degree of polymerization, it is divided into soluble PVP and insoluble PVPP (polyvinyl polypyrrolidone). The relative molecular mass of soluble PVP is 8,000-10,000, which can be used as a precipitant, and can be precipitated by the action of polyphenols. Using this method, there is easy to have residual PVP in the wine. Because PVP has an accumulation effect in the human body, the World Health Organization does not recommend the use of this substance. In recent years, the use of soluble PVP has been rare. Insoluble PVPP has been used in the beer industry since the early 1960s. Its relative molecular mass is greater than 700,000. It is a polymer insoluble matter formed by further cross-linking and polymerization of PVP. It can be used as an adsorbent for polyphenols with good results.

Stable. Incompatible with strong oxidizing agents. Light sensitive. Hygroscopic.

Crosslinked homopolymer of pure vinylpyrrolidone. A free-flowing white or nearly white powder that is indeed hygroscopic. There is a slight odor. It is insoluble in all common solvents such as water and ethanol and ether, so the molecular fish range cannot be determined. However, it has the ability to complex with a variety of substances (such as various types of alcohols that cause the discoloration of beverages such as wine), which is comparable to polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). And because of its insolubility, it is easy to remove after filtration.

Use

●  Clarifier; Pigment Stabilizer; Colloid Stabilizer. It is mainly used for clarification and quality stability of beer (the reference amount is 8-20g/100L, and it is filtered and removed after maintaining for 24h), and it can also be used in combination with enzymes (protease) and protein adsorbents. It is also used as a stabilizer for clarifying wine and preventing discoloration (reference dosage is 24-72g/100L).

●  Clarifying agent; Stabilizer; Thickening agent; Tabletting filler; Dispersing agent. Polymer PVP with a molecular weight of 360,000 is often used as a clarifying agent for beer, vinegar, and wine.

●  Used as a stationary solution for gas chromatography

●  Widely used as thickener, emulsifier, lubricant and clarifying agent, also as a complex of sterilizing agent PVP-I

●  As colloidal stabilizer and clarifying agent, it can be used for clarifying beer, and it can be used in moderation according to production needs.

●  Medical, aquaculture, animal husbandry disinfectant. For disinfection of skin and mucous membranes.

●  PolyFilterTM molecules have amide bonds and adsorb hydroxyl groups on polyphenol molecules to form hydrogen bonds. Therefore, they can be used as stabilizers for beer, fruit wine/wine, beverage wine, prolong their shelf life, and improve their transparency, color and taste. . The product has two specifications: disposable and recyclable. Disposable products are suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises. Renewable products require the purchase of special filtering equipment, but they can be recycled and are suitable for recycling in large breweries.

●  In daily cosmetics, PVP and copolymers have good dispersibility and film-forming properties, and can be used as styling agents for styling liquids, hair sprays and mousses, sunscreens for hair conditioners, foam stabilizers for shampoos, and wave styling agents. And dispersants and affinity agents in hair dyes. Add PVP to vanishing cream, sunscreen, depilatory to enhance moisturizing and lubricating effects. Taking advantage of PVP's excellent surface activity, film-forming properties, and no irritation to the skin, no allergic reactions, etc., it has broad prospects for applications in hair care products, skin care products, etc.

●  Used to absorb phenols and tannic acid from water extracts to purify plant enzymes. Used as a chromatographic adsorbent to separate aromatic acids, aldehydes, and phenols. Used for clarification of beer and wine.

Production method

●  The crude product is obtained by polymerizing and cross-linking N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone in the presence of a basic catalyst or N,N'-divinamidine, and then refluxing with water, 5% acetic acid and 50% ethanol until the extract is ≤50mg/kg until.

●  It is obtained by purifying 30%-60% aqueous solution of purified 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone in the presence of ammonia or amine, using hydrogen peroxide as a catalyst, and performing cross-chain homopolymerization at a temperature of 50 °C.

●  The crude product is obtained by polymerizing and cross-linking N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone in the presence of a basic catalyst or N,N'-divinylimidazole, and then refluxing with water, 5% acetic acid and 50% ethanol until the extract is ≤ 50mg/kg (about 3h or more).
