Production method

●  A preparation method of antifreeze type DMDM hydantoin,
A 2L three-neck round bottom flask was equipped with a stirrer and a temperature regulator. 600 g of formaldehyde was placed in the flask, and the pH was adjusted to 7.4 with aqueous sodium hydroxide solution. 500 g of hydantoin was added to the flask, a violent exotherm was observed, the temperature rose, and most of the hydantoin was dissolved. The pH was adjusted to 8.3 with aqueous sodium hydroxide solution and the reaction mixture was stirred for an additional 1 hour at 55°C. 175 g of water were added and then cooled to room temperature. Add 10.5g NH4Cl and stir well. Adjust pH to 7.0. The above product is antifreeze DMDM hydantoin.
