Bromobutane is an important fine chemical product, mainly used as an alkylating agent in organic synthesis; it is an intermediate of fungicides pyrimol and pyrithrimol; organic phosphine compound tributylphosphine, phase transfer Catalyst and Surfactant Tetra-n-butylammonium bromide. It is also used as a solvent, a rare element extractant, a raw material for the synthesis of pesticides, medicines, dyes, and spices, and can also be used as a refrigerant and solvent.

● 1-Bromobutane is an intermediate of the fungicides pyrimol and pyrimol.
● It is used in the synthesis of tetracaine hydrochloride, an anesthetic, and also in the production of dyes and spices.
● It can be used as rare element extraction agent, alkylation agent and organic synthesis raw material, and can also be used as raw material of medicine, dye and spice
● Used as rare element extractant, alkylating agent and organic synthesis raw material, also used as raw material of medicine, dye and spice, used as intermediate of medicine, dye and pesticide, used for synthesizing anesthetic tetracaine hydrochloride, and also used for producing dye and spices.
● From n-butanol in the presence of red phosphorus and bromine; or from n-butanol in the presence of sulfuric acid and hydrobromic acid. Mix n-butanol and hydrobromic acid, add sulfuric acid dropwise, heat and reflux for 1.5h, distill to obtain crude bromobutane, wash with water until the pH is 6-7, and dehydrate with anhydrous calcium chloride.
● Its preparation method is to mix n-butanol, sodium bromide, water and sulfuric acid evenly, heat to reflux for 3 hours, steam out the crude bromobutane, wash with water, treat with cold concentrated sulfuric acid, and carry out distillation to obtain the finished product. Reaction equation: CH3CH2CH2CH2OH+NaBr+H2SO4→CH3CH2CH2CH2Br+Na2SO4+H2O
