2-Ethylhexyl acrylate is a monomer of high molecular weight polymers. It can be copolymerized, cross-linked, grafted, etc. with other monomers to produce acrylic resin products. It is used in many aspects such as synthetic fiber fabric processing, adhesives, coatings, plastic modification, etc.

1. Direct esterification method: Acrylic acid and 2-ethylhexanol are esterified with sulfuric acid as a catalyst, and then neutralized, dealcoholized and distilled to obtain the finished product.
2. Transesterification method: Methyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexanol are transesterified in the presence of titanium tetrachloride as a catalyst to produce 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, and the finished product is obtained by distillation.
